Hey again guys and girls,
Im looking to purchase our voice server, it will be a 25man as this should suit our needs. I've found 50% off so im probly going to order it in a 6month prepay batch.
The Question is, would you prefer Ventrillo, Mumble or TS
Mumble = £6.75 Ventrillo = £18.75 TeamSpeak = £16.50
Seemsly im paying the bill Mumble would be my choice, ive been PM'ing with some of you and you requested mumble over the others as a preference. Which would you prefer and ill get it ordered in the next few days

Sorry just to confirm, those prices are for a 25man for a 6month period.

As I mentioned in the PM, I don't have access to good enough upload connection for now (not likely to change in the foreseeable future), so I can't run the Mumble server on my own fileserver.
But those prices are really affordable compared to some others I have seen over the years, and do let us know if you need help with the funding. I am quite sure many of us would like to contribute here and there.
For anyone who hasn't used Mumble before. Have personally been using it with friends for years now, it's a voice-com designed for actually having multiple people talking at same time, instead of just barking short orders as Vent and TeamSpeak are made for. The voice quality is much better than on Vent and TS. If anyone has any trouble with setting mumble client up or any questions, feel free to PM me or email me (and ask me in game once I finally re-sub too).

I have used ventrilo and teamspeak to raid with and found ventrilo so much better out of the two. My raid guild has a paypal donation thing on our website, so we all chip in for the costs.
I've never used mumble so I can't give a fair comment on that.

Mumble is just fine for a voice com, vent and teamspeak are in no way better. just go for mumble, cheaper and just as good if not better

I have never used mumble before, and always liked TS3 more (out of vent and ts). How's mumble? Is it able to be downloaded on mac also?

you could always use Dolby Axon. A fairly good VOIP, and it is free

The positional audio of it was also rather silly, but then again I was playing T:A when I gave it a try and it was messing up with needing to hear other positional audio. Maybe would work better for MMORPG play. Also it did do some interesting spiking on the amount of bandwidth it used, but I suppose that might have been fixed by now aswell. Hurrm, now am curious how easily I can set it up on the suse box where I run all my voice coms, just for the fun of it.

I have only been using it recently, and had no probs. There have been a load of updates to, that may have fixed the probs you listed. Maybe the guild leader and a few others could get together before guild is launced to use it, and then make an informed decision?
Also how about having an mIRC channel for us to chat on, just leading upto guild launch?

Ive not used mIRC in a long time but if its popular im happy to set one up. May be a little redundant once proper guild website and voice comms it up though, plus in-game chat
