Hey Turai,
As you probably read, we plan to re-roll together, so most of us will be levelling at the same time which means a naturally the guild will do dungeons and things together as we level and aim to complete guild achievements as we go.
This guild is launched with the idea of community in mind, not just an elitist, lets run through dungeons and hit the caps asap and hardcore raid. I'd like the think the voice comms, forums, guild website etc will be utilized to form this community and not leave people out. If your not utilising all these then your not participating how you should be. We only plan on being 50 members big, i think it would be hard for somebody to be left out without being noticed and encouraged to participate.
The idea of giving Real ID's is so people can bond and a more personal touched introduced. Guild dungeons runs are only 5man max, so i wouldn't classify these as guild events, rather i think people get better involved by signing up for positions such as guild crafters, potions makers, etc and working towards collective targets.
If your not going to get involved in the community, then there is little point joining this guild. If you after sitting back and just coming to the odd raid, but never participate in anything else and never chat to guildies then your not helping the community. You get out of a community what you put into it, its not the job of everyone else to make sure you say hello, its your job to say hello. I apreciate some people are shy / nervous, and whilst i will do my best to ensure they get invited and included im not here to hold their hand. Obviously as GM ill be going round and making sure this is happening and that everybody has opportunities to get involved, making sure people feel comfortable about participating, but i think its the community as a whole that decides what we do as social activities and i shouldnt be forcing people to participate. And if a natrual progression of guild runs doesn't take form then we will organise them.
In short, nobody, unless joining late should by design be leveling alone, the premises of building a community with such a focused aim should naturally bring large groups together. There will always be a 'core' group, this is a for-gone conclusion but this shouldn't mean anybody is excluded. In my mind, half of this is about progressing as a guild, its not an individual endeavour.
its late i realise that was a little disjointed but i hope it answers your question.
